UCLA Community Service Commision - Education Projects:

The UCLA Community Service Commission is the community service focused office of UCLA student government (USAC), serving both as an umbrella organization for 37 student-run service projects, and as a center for the service efforts of the campus community, using large-scale service programming, and advocacy & awareness initiatives to engage UCLA students in service. Project Literacy serves low resource communities by providing one-on-one literacy based tutoring. We work with both children and adults in four community in the Los Angeles area.

Project Wild (Working for Immigrant Literacy Development): projectwild.wixsite.com/uclaprojectwild
The main focus of the program is to teach students how to speak, read and write English in addition to helping immigrant teenagers and their families transition into America.

Bruin Partners: bruinpartners.wixsite.com/ucla
Bruin Partners is a one-on-one tutoring and mentoring program that serves the students at Marina del Rey Middle School in Mar Vista/Culver City, Westchester High School, Venice High School, and JFK High School.

Amigos de UCLAwww.amigosdeucla.org
Amigos de UCLA reaches out to students at Pio Pico Middle School and Carson-Gore Academy in Mid-City Los Angeles and encourages them to pursue higher education by serving as mentors and tutors. We also promote culture, arts, and science through carefully designed craft projects and hands-on activities and quarterly field trips.

Watts Tutorial Program serves the low income housing community of Watts in East LA, including the nearby William Mead housing project. Each week, we bring in students in grades K-12 to campus for a meaningful activity, time for tutoring and help with homework, and a healthy home-cooked meal.

The Casa Heiwa and Angelina Mentorship Program strives to empower the youth of Echo Park in Los Angeles within their community through tutoring and mentoring.

TEACH (Together Educating and Advocating Community Health):
TEACH is a UCLA student organization which focuses on tutoring, mentoring, and health education for at-risk youth in the Los Angeles area.

SCOPE aims not only to empower children and their families with valuable resources in the community, but to become an invaluable educational tool for undergraduates, graduates and medical students to become knowledgeable about community health and social resources
